Live Well
Below your means

Hi Everyone,

This month I’m having a hard time writing Evan’s Corner because just like most of you I have my moments where the COVID-19 pandemic seems a bit overwhelming.  There’s a word for that I guess…normal.  Every week when we get to the end of the week maybe we should say, we’re a week closer to getting back to a sense of the old normalcy.  What the new normalcy will be like is another question.

Just know this.  Here at the credit union we are here to assist you in any way we can.  Go to our COVID-19 resource page for all the details.  Sign up for home banking and mobile banking and deposit your checks using your cellphone.  We can defer payments on your loans for up to six months, including your mortgage.  We have emergency loans if you need some money to tide you over.  And if you need to withdraw one of your CD’s early, we won’t charge you an early withdrawal fee.  We’re receiving more phone calls than ever and our call wait times are longer than normal.  Email us at service@docfcu.org instead.  We’ll get right back to you.  NEVER SEND YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER OR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER IN AN EMAIL TO US.  Yes, I was shouting there but I did to get your attention because it’s really important.

Remember there are all sorts of COVID-19 scams out there.  People are desperate now and desperate people do desperate things.  If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

On our newsletter this month there are some great ways to use your debit card to get the twelve transactions you need to qualify for the dividends on performance checking.

I will close for now.  Please stay home if you can and practice social distancing.  It’s the one thing we can all do to help America lick COVID-19.  And remember, the daffodils will bloom next spring.

Till Next Time,
Evan Clark, President and CEO
