What is Funds Transfer?

Funds Transfer is a tool that allows you to transfer funds between your DOCFCU accounts and other participating financials and brokerages houses.

Below is a set of quick reference notes for registering for Funds Transfer and setting up external accounts. There is an "Additional Information" link at the bottom of the quick notes that provides detailed information as well.

Funds Transfer Registration Process

  1. Sign onto Online Banking.
  2. Click on the "Funds Transfer" tab.
  3. Read and accept the "Terms of Service" by clicking the box.
  4. Click the "Sign up now" button.
  5. Complete the registration form and click "Submit"
  6. Check your email account for a registration email to retrieve the validation code.
  7. Sign back into Online Banking and click on the "Funds Transfer" tab.
  8. Go to "Click here" link to enter the validation code.
  9. Funds Transfer is now active.

Adding and Verifying an Account for the Primary Owner of the External Account

  1. Sign onto to Online Banking.
  2. Click the "Funds Transfer" tab.
  3. Click the "Add Account" tab.
  4. In the Account Ownership section, click "Select if you are the primary owner of this account."
  5. Add external account information

Verification Process:

If Online Verification is an option that is available for the account, certain fields that are specific to the online banking system for the external institution appear. If you opt to use this method, enter your user information and the account will be enabled immediately.

If Online Verification is not an option, you can use the Deposit Verification method, by following the steps below:

  • Click on the Deposit Verification (the screen will refresh)
  • Read the instructions on the screen
  • Click "Submit"
  • Monitor the account that you just added for the ACH deposits. This process may take 2-3 days. The deposits should have a description of "Transfer" or "Account Verify" and are typically less than $1.00.

Once the deposits have been credited, sign back onto Online Banking and click on the "Funds Transfer" tab.

Click the "Verify" link.

Enter the deposit amounts in the "Amount of Deposit" fields. If there were two deposits made to the account, you can enter the amounts in any order and click "Confirm" to enable the account.

Adding an External Account that is Owned by Someone other than Yourself

  1. Sign onto to Online Banking.
  2. Click the "Funds Transfer" tab.
  3. Click the "Add Account" tab.
  4. In the Account Ownership section, click "Select if the owner of this third part account is someone other than yourself."
  5. Add Bank Account information as instructed and then click "Submit"
  6. There is not a verification process for accounts that someone owns other than yourself.
  7. You are ready to transfer funds!
